Created 2009, the EDK Group today has 31 service stations, 28 Boutiques and 30 Djolof-Chicken, in addition to being present in all regions of Senegal, except Matam, Kolda and Ziguinchor where projects openings are in progress.
EDK OIL is a subsidiary which employs more than 1,500 people on fixed-term, permanent and internship contracts distributed between its various subsidiaries LOW PRICE, TEFESS and DJOLOF CHICKEN. And all staff benefit from their contracts duly endorsed by the Labor Inspectorate and copies given to them.
Privileged youth employment
As part of its recruitment, EDK Oil favors youth employment and especially local employment. Indeed, each time it has to open a site in a given region, the group recruits between 20 and 50 people, depending on the size of the site, in direct and indirect jobs at the local level. These people can work on site or they can also be deployed to different sites in the network.
In-house training
It is also important to remember that for most positions to be filled, the company does not necessarily find an already qualified workforce. And therefore for the majority of its staff, the EDK OIL group had to provide them with internal training until their confirmation in the position. Thus, EDK first recruits as an intern and then if the person successfully completes their internship, they become a permanent employee. Likewise, the group relies heavily on internal promotion. In fact, all of our managers
stations, shops or restaurants were first recruited in the lowest positions, before being given responsibility.
Staff with assured social protection
All permanent staff benefit from social (Ipres, Social Security Fund) and health (mutual health insurance) protection from the start of their contract.
Today, as part of its social policy, all female staff of the company benefit, as indicated by the Law, from maternity leave as well as certain arrangements made for new mothers.
The staff benefits from their annual leave and as far as Djolof is concerned
Chicken, the month of Ramadan constitutes the period of vacation for the majority of them.
Loans are granted to staff to meet certain personal needs. Also during certain events such as holidays, occasional assistance is also granted to them.
